Gather and email your child’s portfolio to FastHomeschoolEvaluations@gmail.com

As per Florida law, the homeschool evaluation portfolio must include three items:


1. Samples of your child’s progress

2. A log of educational activities

3. Titles that your child read during the year


Compile these three items and then email them to me as PDFs.

1. Gather samples of your child’s progress


  • To fulfill this Florida requirement, send samples of your child’s progress ​in two subject areas. (You can WhatsApp photos of the samples to me, or ​send photos/PDFs via email)


  • Q: What evidence of progress is acceptable?


  • A: Samples from any subject. For example:

Math

Reading

Science

Writing

History

Arts

Various other subjects


  • For portfolio examples,


  • Please email all four samples below with your child’s name on each ​sample.


1. Beginning of year sample - Subject I

2. End of year sample - Subject I

3. Beginning of year sample - Subject II

4. End of year sample - Subject II



2. Prepare a log of educational activities


  • To fulfill this Florida requirement, provide a send an activity log.


  • This can be your child’s planner, your parent planner, or a written or ​typed list of activities. (Dates not required)


  • Activities can range from school days at home to field trips, movies, ​documentaries, projects, co-op days, and other activities.

  • Please include this activity log in the portfolio email as a PDF or photo.


3. List the titles your child has read this year


  • To fulfill this Florida requirement, make a list of at least two titles.


  • These can be ANY titles your child has read, including books, workbooks, ​poetry, pamphlets, recipes, game manuals, etc. Include the list of titles in ​the email as a PDF or photo.


  • I will begin the evaluation process by reviewing your child’s portfolio and ​checking for evidence of progress. This will happen prior to the scheduled ​interview.

Arrive on time for your virtual or phone interview

  • Your virtual interview will be through video via FaceTime, Zoom, or WhatsApp, ​OR a phone interview.


  • During the interview, I will explain my review of your child’s portfolio and ​declare a pass/fail of the evaluation. Please do not be alarmed by the word ​“fail”. Although it is possible for a child to “fail” a portfolio evaluation, it is ​rare.


  • Afterward, I will speak with your child briefly. This is not a formal ​conversation, so you don't need to be nervous or practice your responses!


  • I will ask your child how their homeschool year has been and ask them to tell ​me one or two things they learned during the year. I will then give them my ​positive review of their progress and encourage them to maintain a positive ​attitude and do their best.


  • I will conclude the interview by asking you if you have any further concerns ​about the evaluation.


  • This process is fast and easy!

  • Phone Interview: $40 + $30 for each sibling
  • This is the fastest and easiest option.


  • Video Interview: $50 + $40 for each sibling.
  • The video interview is more personal and usually lasts a bit longer ​than the phone interview.


  • Portfolio via Video and Video Interview Combo: $60 + $50 for each ​sibling.
  • This is the best option if you want to show the portfolio live, before ​the rest of the interview.

Receive your official evaluation documents via email

  • I will have your documents prepared and ready to send.
  • As soon as I receive payment, I will send two documents to your email.


  1. Portfolio evaluation to send to your local district office.
  2. Evaluation summary, for your records only (in rare cases of audit).
  3. Keep this document for no less than to two years, along with the portfolio. Do not send this document to the district office.
